Judith Biddlecombe of Colehill
Counterpart lease of a cottage and garden of about 40 perches at Colehill, formerly in the tenure of Richard Bennett, late of James Hayward (deceased), and now of James Hayward. Agreement between John Bankes (of Kingston Hall) of the one part, and James Hayward (of Colehill, broom-maker) of the other part. Agreement for three lives - Judith Biddlecombe (aged 40), James Hayward (29), and Elizabeth Hayward (29). Fine for adding two lives - £10.0.0, Lords rent - £0.1.0.
Date of document, 26 Dec 1769.
Approximate date of birth of Judith is therefore 1769 - 40 = 1729.
From James Hayward (29), and Elizabeth Hayward (29) I am going to make some assumptions to see what more information can be found.
- James and Elizabeth are married.
- Elizabeth is Judith Biddlecombe's daughter.
I will feed it into Ancestry first, and see what comes to light.
Regarding John Bankes (of Kingston Hall), I suspect this may be now known as Kingston Lacy, ancestral home of the Banks family.
