Today, 26 October 2016, David and I arrived in Cape Town for the first time. This is the beginning of our Namibian adventure. Well you all know that Cape Town is in South Africa, but Cape Town is said to be a good city to visit, so this is the stopover before the proper start of our Safari. A kind of pre holiday wind down.
It is well worth it as well. It is a long flight from London Heathrow and I am glad that we did not elect to arrive in Windhoek and start the same day. Our flight was from London Heathrow to Johannesburg non stop and then transfer to domestic for the onward flight to Cape Town. Both elements were on South African Airways, an excellent carrier. The flight staff were pleasent and friendly. The food on the long haul was good as far as Economy airline food goes. The leg room was more generous than some. Basically, hassle free and as enjoyable as can be expected of travelling for the best part of a day.
